Loose Pastel Painting “Dancing Lily” Speed Painting by Wendi OBrien October 21, 2019 written by Wendi OBrien October 21, 2019 699 Playing Around with Pastel Sticks In this video I demonstrate how I created a loose pastel painting I call Dancing Lily. This speed painting where you can watch me create this art using Mungyo Pastel sticks, a few pastel pencils on pastelmat. The hardest thing for me here was to leave off the details and just get the idea of the form. Ultimately, I did put more detail in some of the petals than I had originally wanted to, but it makes for a nice juxtaposition between the semi detailed petals and the not so detailed woman and upper petals.Restraint was key here and though it was hard, I think I struck a good balance.
